When I started “The Rowan Milani Chronicles” series my goal was to educate readers in an entertaining way about the threat our country faces from Islamic terrorists and the Muslim Brotherhood. As the series has grown and developed, it’s become so much more.
My thrillers are gritty and authentic and I make no apologies for that. If you can handle reading about what happens to people who run afoul of the Muslim Brotherhood and our own intelligence community then you’ll enjoy my thrillers. If you can relate to and understand the fact that hard men talk a certain way and live lives that are far from perfect, you’ll enjoy my thrillers. If you can believe that God pursues men like this, loves them and desires to make them His own, then you’ll love my thrillers.
But first, a little about me, your humble, introvert author:
A lifelong writer, I earned my B.S. in Animal Science from Iowa State University and pursued a range of careers—from selling hybrid swine breeding stock, raising our two sons, training and showing my horses, to working in the airline industry—before dedicating myself to my true passion: writing thrillers. My journey took a decisive turn during an Alaska cruise, when I finally gave myself permission to chase the dream that had been waiting all along.
I am also a strong advocate for women’s self-empowerment. My research for the series led me to the shooting range for the first time, sparking a lasting interest in firearms training and personal defense. I love to shoot my Glock pistols and AR-15 rifle.
My husband Ernie and I make our home in South Dakota with two spirited Rat Terriers, Lyle and Bella. When I’m not crafting the next Rowan Milani thriller, you may find me behind the wheel of my black Mustang convertible attempting the fine art of autocross or enjoying a glass of wine or bourbon and relaxing with family and friends.

Here’s the synopsis I came up with to describe the series so far:
Yes, “The Rowan Milani Chronicles” is a thriller series, but it isn’t just another formulaic set of chase scenes and cliffhangers. At its heart, I think of it as a character study wrapped in suspense.
Rowan Milani begins as a man broken by abysmal grief, rage, and betrayal. Those wounds have shaped him into someone arrogant, cold, and seemingly unreachable. The stories follow him through dangerous plots, betrayals, and battles – but the true story running underneath is Rowan’s transformation.
Every relationship he encounters challenges his defenses. Every choice forces him to confront who he’s become. And woven subtly through it is the God who refuses to give up on him. What makes my series unique is that the suspense isn’t just external – it’s internal. The greatest tension is watching a hard-hearted man wrestle with his own brokenness, the choices he makes and the consequences he endures as he moves toward redemption.
My readers get the gripping action of a thriller – but they also find something deeper: a story of hope, healing, and the relentless pursuit of grace. My stories aren’t just about thrills; they’re about what it means to be human, to stumble, fall and be raised up, and what it takes to be made whole.
For Rowan the sojourn toward wholeness and redemption is ongoing. He’s not there yet and sometimes the way seems dangerous and uncertain, but in my fictional world, as in real life, God never gives up. I’m having fun continuing the evolution of this journey with Rowan and the friends, colleagues and enemies who surround him.
